Herbal Rice :

Serves 4

2 cups rice
Betel leaf – 1
Omavalli leaves -2
Thuthuvalai leaves – 3
Mint leaves –  1 handful.
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tablespoon
Pepper powder – 1 teaspoon
Cow Ghee – 1 tablespoon.
Tomatoes – 1
Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
Veggies – Add cauliflower or Fresh Green peas (Optional)
Salt As per taste.
Water 4 cups.
For grinding to a paste :
Add all the leaves, add 1 inch cinamon, Cloves 3nos, Bayleaf 1no, Cardamom 1 no, Fennel seeds half teaspoon. Grind everything to a fine paste with little water.
Place a heavy bottom Pan on stove and add ghee . Add the grinded paste and keep stiring it . Add on Ginger garlic paste, pepper powder, Turmeric powder.After 2 minutes add salt tomatoes and veggies .After 5 minutes add the rice and add water in 1: 2 ratio. Keep the lid closed once it bubbles. Keep the flame in sim for 25 minutes .
Serve it with Raita or any crisps.
